Although the tree assessment process is thorough and robust, certification by an accredited organisation is not required. Each registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The data are open access for anyone to use, but they may be particularly relevant to:
- City Councils
- Landscape Architects
- Property Developers
- Researchers
- Students
