- Evergreen tree growing up to 30 m tall, over 50 cm in diameter. Trunk is often with low branches. Leaves are actually phyllodes, c. 10-16 cm long, distinctly curved, and simple. Flowers c. 10 cm long with short primary stalk, yellow, in slender spikes. Fruits 2.5-4 cm in diameter, flattened in strongly contorted coils. Seeds black encircled with orange aril.
