Species Information
- Deciduous tree growing up to 20 m tall, sometimes taller. Leaves 15-40 cm long, pinnately compound with 7-17 leaflets and a terminal leaflet. Flowers are c. 1 cm long, dark pink to purplish red and in dense terminal clusters. Leaf fall and flushes of new growth precede flowering, during which the entire crown is full of purple blooms. Fruits are 1-seed pods, 4-8 cm long, oval-shaped.
