Species Information
- Evergreen tree growing up to 20 m tall. Crown conical when young, becoming roundish. Leaves in whorls of 4 at intervals of 0.5-1 cm. Flowers minute and unisexual, with males and females in different clusters. Male flowers in simple terminal spikes, female flowers in terminal heads. Fruits c. 2.5 cm across, ellipsoid and in cone-like heads.

- Confined to hills, ridges and lower montane forests on ultramafic soils, and heath vegetation on sandstone
