- Deciduous tree growing up to 24 m tall. Leaves c. 25 cm across, opposite, palmately compound with 5 leaflets. Flowers large, showy, c. 5 cm long, tubular, yellow, in compact terminal clusters. Often the whole crown blooms after leaf fall. Fruits are capsules c. 25 cm long, slender, and flattened.
