Species Information
- Solitary fan-leaved palm growing up to 15 m tall, c. 25 cm in diameter. Crown densely packed with 40-60 leaves, roundish. Leaf blades c. 1.8 m across, semi-circular to almost circular, deeply divided into narrow segments that are pendulous, creating a weeping effect. Petioles c. 3 m long with spines along the margin. Inflorescence much branched, c. 2.7 m long, bearing bright yellow blossoms. Fruits c. 1.3 cm across, globose, ripening black.
