Species Information
- Evergreen tree growing up to 25 m tall with a bushy crown. Leaves 19-40 cm long, elliptic-oblong to oblanceolate. Flowers 5-6 cm long, white to cream coloured, upward-facing, in leaf axils and pairs, emerging one at a time. Fruits similar to M. champaca. More often, the tree remains sterile.
- Probably a hybrid between M. champaca and M. montana originating in Java and widely cultivated in South and Southeast Asia
- Medium-sized evergreen tree, shown to be growing relatively fast under local conditions
