Species Information
- Solitary feather-leaved palm growing up to 15 m tall, 45 cm in diameter. Stem covered with broadly triangular leaf bases. Crown with a dense cluster of fronds. Leaves 2.4-3 m long and gently arching, petioles spiny. Leaflets c. 45 cm long, stiff, sharply pointed at the apex, covered with greyish wax, irregularly spaced, and spreading in different planes. Inflorescence c. 90 cm long, with several yellow branches bearing many small whitish blossoms. Fruits c. 2.5 cm long, ellipsoid, orange when mature.
