Species Information
- Medium-sized tree growing up to 37 m tall and c. 50 cm in diameter. Straight bole with smooth to shallowly fissured bark. Leaves spirally arranged and wither yellow before being shed. Flowers an attractive bright yellow, with many in umbel form. Fruits are samaras, flat and winged, dispersed widely by the wind, pale green or yellowish, turning salmon-pink when ripe.
- Thailand, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, and Borneo (Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Kalimantan). The species is found throughout Peninsular Malaysia except for Perlis and Perak.
- Lowland and hill dipterocarp forests, on forest margins, near streams or swampy habitats and hillsides
