Species Information
- Solitary feather-leaved palm growing up to 40 m tall, 60 cm in diameter. Light grey trunk bulges slightly, if at all, above the swollen base. Crown with c. 20 leaves, roundish. Crownshaft deep green. Leaves 4.5 m long, petioles c. 20 cm. Leaflets 60-90 cm long, growing at 2 faintly different angles from each side of the rachis to create a slightly plumose leaf. Inflorescence much branched below the crownshaft, flowers cream-coloured. Fruits c. 1.6-2 cm long, oblong, purplish ripening black.
