- Shrub or small tree growing up to 12 m tall with a rather loose crown. Leaves 15-50 cm long, in pairs of 3-5 leaflets. Flowers 5-30 cm across, yellow turning pink, then red with a darker eye, and in much-branched clusters amongst or behind leaves on branches. Fruits are pods 10-30 cm long, oblong to lanceolate with a straight or curved beak, ripening dark brown, and in clusters of up to 9.
