Species Information
- Deciduous tree growing up to 30 m tall. Leaves 10-25 cm long, elliptic-oblong with a heart-shaped base. Flowers 0.8-1.2 cm long, pale yellow with a pink base, becoming pink or red, unisexual, in clusters behind leaf flushes. Fruits 7-12 cm long, leathery with velvety hairs, ripening bright orange-red, and in groups of 4-5 on a common stalk. Seeds glossy and black.
